TEHRAN – Iranian Industries and Mines Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian and Brazilian Development, Industry and Foreign Trade Minister Miguel Jorge discussed ways to expand trade ties in the fields of industry, energy, agriculture, housing and technology, Tuesday in Tehran.

The two countries have set up a joint committee to give a boost to bilateral economic relations, IRINN news network reported on Tuesday.
The Brazilian minister, heading a delegation of around 100 businesspersons and industrialists, arrived in Tehran on Monday.
The delegation is consisted of high-ranking officials of economy and banking sectors as well as managers of large state-run and private companies in mining, energy, housing, petrochemical, food, agriculture and technological industries.
""Iran and Brazil are two major economic powers in the Middle East and in the Latin America, Mehrabian said, adding that leaders of the two countries are determined to broaden trade and economic relations based on mutual interest.
Miguel Jorge said for his part that the two sides have great potentials to enhance cooperation in agriculture, food, energy, IT and medical fields.
The Brazilian official also met with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The president said in the meeting that the flourishing Iran-Brazil ties will be beneficial for all the developing nations.
Iran can be a gateway for Brazil to enter Middle East markets, Ahmadinejad said, adding that Brazil can play the same role for Iran to enter Latin American markets.
Brazilian Ambassador to Iran, Antonio Salgado said Wednesday that since Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva took office in 2003, the South American country began boosting relations with other countries including Iran, which is a regional power, Press TV reported.
The trade volume between Iran and Brazil reached 1.2 billion dollars last year.
Lula is planning to pay an official visit to Tehran in May
